Biography of Dr. Oggy East, Semantise Ltd.

Semantise Ltd (www.semantise.com) deliver systems that improve communication and collaboration. We are the UK's leading supplier of FirstClassTM; a cost-effective, highly scalable, feature-rich messaging and communications solution for enterprises, learning organizations, governments and service providers.

FirstClassTM (www.firstclass.com) is used widely throught the world to support online communities - for example, in the UK The Open University uses FirstClass to support some 250,000 distance learners. As well as learning communities, businesses and organisations can use FirstClass TM to engage stakeholders and build loyalty, facilitating communication and marketing activities.

Oggy East will demonstrate how "FirstClass Online" - a community of software developers, re-sellers and end customers - is used by Open Text Corporation (www.opentext.com) to support and communicate with FirstClass users throughout the world.

Profile:
Dr Oggy East is the co-founder and director of Semantise Ltd. Having worked in academia and medical research environments for 10 years, Oggy moved into the educational technology field in 1998. Over the past few years Oggy has been responsible for implementing FirstClassTM systems for businesses, schools, further and higher education colleges and Local Education Authorities. Along with Dr Rich Edwards, Semantise has grown over the past 5 years, developing communication systems. Coupled with expertise in XML, XSLT, Java, SQL and Relational Databases (including design, deployment and performance tuning) technologies, Semantise can help organisations leverage the power of their data and communication networks.
