The Small Office Network- Maximise the potential, minimise the risk!
Pembrokeshire College
Haverfordwest
Wednesday 23rd November 2005
6pm - 8.30pm (6.30pm start)
Is your hardware working efficiently for you or could you improve productivity by ensuring good communications between devices?
Many small businesses now have more than one PC and a printer in use in the office, but don't have a network in place to enable sharing of files and devices. Businesses also discover the are located
in an environment where a wired network is not practical due to unsuitable building layout or structure and therefore the cost implications seem to outweigh the network benefits.
ITWales and
Comcen have joined forces to demonstrate the set up and functionality of a networked office- both with and without wires. They offer
practical advice and quick fix solutions to the basic networking needs of an SME, whilst highlighting some of the potential security risks involved with widening access to internal systems.
Speakers: Mark Kiddell, Web Developer and Technician, ITWales
Clive Brooks, Networking Specialist,
Comcen
