There are some very comprehensive business directories on the Internet. Use them in the same way you would use Yellow Pages, with the added advantage of keyword searching. Some will give
your business a FREE listing.
Yellow Pages 
Electronic version of BT Yellow Pages, listing contact details of 1.6 million UK businesses. Free to use, but as with paper Yellow Pages, it will cost you to advertise.
Thomweb
Directory of 2.2 million UK firms produced by Thomson Directories. Free to use. If your business is presently listed in the Thomson Local, you will already be in ThomWeb.
Ask Alix
Directory of 1.8 million UK companies, searchable by keyword, name or town. Free to use, and a basic listing of your business is free.
Scoot
2 million UK yellow page entries. Free to use, and free to get a basic listing for your business.
County Web
Search 2.45 million businesses. A quick and easy search by type of business required and location. You can also view the top 1000 businesses in the UK and at county level. Free to use. If you
want to list your own business on a business card, it will cost £120 + VAT per year to be listed on a single site eg WalesWeb. A basic entry is free.
Kelly's on the Web
Information on over 143,000 manufacturing & service companies which can be searched by product & service.
Kompass UK
Search the database of 180,000 UK companies. As a guest you can view basic details of companies which fit your criteria - name, location, phone numbers - but you would have to register and pay
for more detailed information.
