Programming the Apple iPhone

Guest speaker: Professor Chris Price, Department of Computer Science, Aberystwyth University

The application development and sales model of the Apple iPhone and App Store has revolutionized the mobile software industry. It provides developers with a controlled environment for the development, marketing and sale of their application.

In this talk, aimed at those with some experience of software development, Professor Price discusses the process and workflow of iPhone application design, testing and sales. He will draw on his own experience of developing a successful iPhone app and discuss some of the potential pitfalls that might trip up the first time app developer.

The event will start with registration at 5:30pm in the Visualisation Centre with tea, coffee and light buffet. The talk will start at 6:00pm and will conclude with questions and networking opportunities.

This event forms part of Software Alliance Wales programme and is organised in partnership with Computer Science at Aberystwyth University.
