Technology successes and failures

"How technology has shaped EADS for a hundred years and is still doing so".

Guest speaker: Professor Simon Bradley, FRGS Vice President Head of Engineering, Physics, IT, Security Services & Simulation EADS Innovation Works

Reflecting on the history of some of the great innovations & innovators that have graced the myriad of companies that is now EADS, going back to companies such as Bleriot, Fokker, Aerospatiale plus many more - showing what we are doing now to ensure that their spirit of innovation lives on.

In the lecture we will touch on some of our great successes Concorde, A380, Jules Verne ATV etc, a few of our failures and the importance of learning from them. We will end on some of the cutting edge developments we are now working on, the challenges we face and how we are taking advantage of advances in Computer Science - hardware and software - to deliver to our Business Units real differentiating technologies.

This event forms part of Software Alliance Wales programme and is organised in partnership with Computer Science at Aberystwyth University.
