Who owns the content, the software and the domain name used for your website? The answer may surprise you. Web designers need to know what pieces of intellectual property IP they can give away, and clients need to know how to protect their interests.

This event will give an overview of IP, including copyright, trade marks and registered designs, and will lookg at website ownership from the perspectives of client and supplier, showing how websites can create liabilities and discuss ways to reduce risk. The question of ownership and other issues have important implications for software development practices.

Stuart has particularly expertise in the technology sector where protecting, developing and monetising intellectual property is a key strategic aim. He has advised both investors and SME Mangers on a large number of early stage and start up investments, particularly those involving regional venture capital funds.
