Doors open at 6pm

Robert Recorde Room,
Faraday Building

Guest Speaker: Abu Numan, Business Liaison Manager, Accredit UK, Standards for the ICT industry.

Accredit UK is a quality standard that is designed to allow businesses to prove their excellence. The Accredit UK Standard aims to improve confidence in the ICT supply chain by measuring businesses against agreed criteria and by registering certified businesses with Accredit UK. This Standard also provides guidelines for purchasers so that they can buy ICT solutions more effectively.

Accredited companies can prove that they have the right people, excellent processes and a track record of first-class performance.

This event aims to stimulate discussion and highlight the issues of concern to the Welsh software industry in respect of developing quality standards. Abu Numan will provide an introduction to Accredit UK, explaining how the Accredit assessment works and detailing the certification process. The presentation will highlight the benefits to SMEs in joining the scheme with relevant case studies.

Abu will be joined by Jenny Powles of KC3.net, a company that has recently become certified in the standard, who will share her views and answer questions.

This evening workshop forms part of the ITWales Software Development programme.
