Web4-u www.web4-u.co.uk has been created to empower ordinary tourism businesses to take control of their web-based marketing. It not only enables them to create a content controlled website but also to share their business information with other tourism businesses thereby increasing their web exposure. By using simple steps each individual website can become a mini tourist information centre that is up to date and comprehensive; for example www.maes-y-garth.co.uk. In the same way destination websites such as www.betws-y-coed.co.uk can be created by the sum of the parts where all the content is managed by the individual businesses.

Web4-u has completed development and testing 2 months ago and is now being used by 270 tourism businesses. It is being assessed by the Welsh Assembly Government using Brecon Beacons and North Wales as a pilot study in the effectiveness of this approach.

Web Design Opportunities - Because there is an expected increase in usage, there is an urgent need to develop new website designs for use within the system. Aberconwy Web Solutions Ltd are looking to work with a group of web designers on a freelance basis to extend the design options offered by the system.

The event forms part of the ITWales Software Developers Special Interest Group programme, which is supported by the Welsh Assembly Government.

Booking for this event is now closed.
