Guest speaker : Andy Wigley from Wigley Computing Limited
Mobile devices are now as powerful as a desktop PC of four or five years ago, and their computing capabilities make them powerful tools for building mobile line of business applications. However,
application development for these devices presents
challenges that developers building for desktop PC or server never think about:
Will my application still work if I lose network connectivity, for example, lose my signal to the mobile phone network?
What if I lose my device or it is stolen? How do I encrypt sensitive data?
How can I implement positive authentication for users on mobile devices?
In this presentation, Andy shows how he solves these problems using the latest tools from Microsoft which make it surprisingly easy to implement effective solutions to these problems. He'll also talk
briefly about new developments in mobile technology to give
a near-term view of where mobile software is going.
