Hear Alan Cox define the Future of Open Source

by Sali Earls

Linux pioneer Alan Cox delivered a public lecture for ITWales in Bangor last week on "The Future of Open Source", and the audio of the presentation is now available for download in the following formats:

Alan Cox is a Fellow at Red Hat, one of the largest and most recognised organisations dedicated to Open Source Software. As a programmer he has been heavily involved in the development of Linux since the start in 1991, and is the man responsible for much of the code at the heart of the Linux kernel.

Among the topics discussed by the influential developer were the difficulties SMEs need to overcome in Open Source adoption brought about by the lack of dedicated IT resources; collaboration of Open Source developers; and the migration from Windows to Linux.

A video of Alan Cox’s presentation will be available from itwales.com shortly.
