Is technology really working for your business?

BT / HSBC Bank Plc / Opportunity Wales Business Breakfast
8:15am, Wednesday 1 October 2003, Waterton Technology Centre, Bridgend

Opportunity Wales, BT and HSBC Bank will be hosting a business breakfast to discuss the benefits of using technology in your business. This free, invitation-only breakfast event will feature presentations from each organisation, with the focus falling on broadband, Internet banking and e-commerce.

Broadband

A BT representative will explain what broadband is, how it works and how you can benefit from having a broadband connection in your business. There will also be the opportunity to ask BT people any questions you may have about broadband to help ensure you fully understand how to gain the most from it.

Internet banking

Internet banking offers many benefits for businesses. These include helping you to stay in control of your finances, having a fast and easy way to manage your business bank accounts, and it can even help to save you money, and it most definitely saves time.

Mike WT Conroy, senior e-commerce manager, Commercial and Corporate Banking, of HSBC Bank, will discuss these and other benefits of Internet banking. The presentation will also cover the issue of Internet security to help make sure you have the confidence to bank online.

E-commerce

Nick Warn, of Bridgend-based Horwood International, the local delivery partner for the Opportunity Wales initiative, will be giving a presentation that highlights the successful use of e-commerce by businesses in the Bridgend area. Further, Nick will touch on the main issues that businesses face when developing an effective e-commerce strategy, and will explain how any small and medium-sized business can make e-commerce work for them.

Horwood International's Opportunity Wales e-commerce advisers have provided e-commerce support to over 220 businesses in the Bridgend area, and will be on hand to answer your e-commerce questions.
